SGW were appointed in 2004 to provide supervision, performance monitoring and witnessing of integrated site-wide security systems associated with the modernization of the Government Offices Great George Street (GOGGS).

The project transformed the eastern half of the building to provide new 40,000m2 headquarters overlooking Parliament Square. HM Customs & Excise and Inland Revenue occupied the space early in 2005.

Her Majesty’s Treasury is the UK government’s economic and finance ministry, maintaining control over public spending, setting the direction of the UK’s economic policy and working to achieve strong and sustainable economic growth.

The former Departments, the Inland Revenue and HM Customs and Excise, entered into a joint 33‐year finance lease agreement with Exchequer Partnership (EP2) in September 2002 in respect of 100 Parliament Street, part of the site formerly known as GOGGS. This agreement provided for the refurbishment and provision of serviced office accommodation to the Departments from November 2004 to October 2037 in return for an annual unitary payment.

Workplace Management (‘through business restructure and acquisition – who are now known as SGP Property & Facilities Management’) manage the soft services facilities management of HM Treasury – EP 1 & EP 2 under a contract to the Exchequer Partnership.

Between 2004 & 2005, SGW Security Consulting were appointed by Workplace Management to represent their interests and oversee the technical delivery, and manage the ‘Cause & Effect’ configuration of integrated security systems being installed by ADT Fire & Security, as part of the Bovis Lend Lease / Emcor building services provision.

The project incorporated the transfer of all security systems from an old control room to a new ergonomically designed command and control room. All new security equipment provided under the scope of work was to be fully compatible with existing equipment in the West End of the building, providing seamless integration.
