Simon Whitehouse, CPP PSP MIET MSyl MASC
Group Director
Simon is an ASIS International qualified Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) by examination & holder of various BTEC Professional qualifications in security technology disciplines. He is a former elected director of the Association of Security Consultants, and holds professional memberships with ASIS International, The Security Institute, The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC). Simon has over 25 years of experience as a security practitioner, 17 years of which were spent in various roles with security systems manufacturers and contractors. He specilises in threat and risk assessments and electronic/physical security engineering disciplines.

Brigadier (Ret) Salim Al Ali, NSS AMS
Chairman, SGW Emirates Security Consulting LLC
Originating from the Emirate of Sharjah, Salim has had a distinguished career in the UAE military, which includes posts commanding military units from Platoon to Battalion, directing staff in the Joint Command Staff College, holding the post of Head of Research and Development in the Joint Command Staff College and Head of Education Command and Leadership Department in the Air Force and Air Defence Institute. Salim has held diplomatic positions as Military attaché and advisor to the UAE Embassy in London (UK) and Ankara, (Turkey). Salim brings operational security and military command and control expertise to SGW and leads the efforts of our Abu Dhabi office.
Rupert Cloke, BSc. HND MIET
Senior Security Consultant
Rupert is educated to degree level in electrical and electronic engineering and has subsequently obtained one year's experience in commercial CAD and fourteen year's experience as an independent security consultant specialising in integrated electronic security solutions. This has enabled him to develop the technical skills and tools to design and implement security systems at every level of detail. Rupert's personal qualities enable him to successfully mediate between Client and Contractor resulting in smooth contract administration and an increased work efficiency and professionalism all round.

Barry Walker , BA CPP Mem RSES
Senior Security Consultant
Barry is an experienced, multi-lingual Security Advisor for the built environment with considerable expertise in security surveying, threat and risk assessments and security auditing. He is one of a few advisors capable of writing coherent and comprehensive security assignment instructions, security and emergency procedures and has worked on several multi-discipline projects in both the public and private sectors. He has a wide experience of working with Critical National Infrastructure sites.

Dr Tim Pascoe, BSc (Hons) MSc PhD
CPTED Specialist
Tim specialises in carrying out qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation investigating security risks, crime prevention and crime reduction. He has over 20 years of experience in the security field and the results of his work enable the selection of the most appropriate package of crime reduction measures for the project in mind. His clients have included community groups of all types, police forces, local authorities, government departments, developers, insurance companies, retailers, banks and pharmaceutical companies. He regularly chairs and presents at conferences and seminars worldwide.

John Ross Wyatt, MBE, MCMI, MIExpE, PhD
Blast Effects Specialist
John is a worldwide recognised Blast / Explosion effects engineer who was awarded the MBE by Queen Elizabeth II in the UK in 1986 for gallantry in counter-terrorist operations. He served twenty-three years in the British Army, most of which was spent in the Royal Engineers in units in the Middle East, East Africa and Western Europe with staff jobs in the Parachute Brigade and Ministry of Defence. Active service covered mainly counter-terrorist and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operations in Northern Ireland, Middle East and UK Mainland. He has worked on landmark projects throughout the world including over 20 projects for the United Nations, a new conference centre in Geneva, WTO new office block and WIPO administrative building. In the UAE he has consulted on several projects including Burj-Al-Arab, Yas Marina Hotel, Badrah Towers and Dubai ruler's offices and is currently advising on matters for the new Sheik Zayed Museum.
Patrick Carey, GIFireE, VPBEng, FBEng, MCMI
Principal Fire Safety Consultant
Patrick spent 25 years in the London Fire Brigade rising to the rank of Senior Divisional Officer in the Headquarters Fire Safety Department. He served in a number of the Brigade's specialist departments including Personnel and Training. He was also the Divisional Training Officer in the Brigade's ‘E' Division where he was responsible for the training of 600 fire-fighters.
As a Divisional Fire Safety Officer he was responsible for the delivery of fire safety within two of the Brigade's divisional areas before moving to Brigade Headquarters where he headed the Group responsible for fire safety in all major building projects in London.
Patrick regularly meet's with ADCD engineers to discuss and submit fire and emergency access drawings and Fire Strategies for projects as an approved Fire Engineering House of Expertise. Patrick has personally worked on many major construction projects worldwide where he has provided fire safety design and management advice. Such projects include: -

Review of Shell Oil Company Fire Service, Nigeria
Site Wide Fire Safety Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi
Patrick also acts as an Expert Witness on fire safety issues and has provided these services both in the UK and the Emirate of Sharjah.
